I would have to nominate the Longoria kid from Brownwood. 2 defensive td's (1 int, 1 fumble return), both about 70 yards, and 1 offensive td.

I agree, Junior Derick Longoria had a stellar game offensivly, defensivly and on special teams. On the opening kick off of the 2nd half, he had the hit of the year.. This is a picture of it but it does not show how hard the hit was. Longoria was a beast last night for the entire game. If POW is for an impact player then he deserves it! Derick was the difference in every part of the game last night!

+1, he gets my vote. He had an outstanding game on both sides of the ball. Someone from Brownwood put up his complete stats for Offense and Defense. He also was in on a tackle on a kickoff that pinned us deep.

China Spring boys each get my vote. Along with the O-line. Great job clearing holes for Michael and giving B time to throw.

Take a look at Godfrey's numbers. Gilmer....very impressive.

Buckeye1980

Gilmer racked up a gaudy 604 total yards and 31 first downs in the contest. Darian Godfrey was 21 of 24 for 360 yards and 3 touchdowns before leaving the game with 10 minutes left to play in the fourth quarter. Godfrey also rushed for 25 yards and two touchdowns.

The No. 1 ranked Gilmer Buckeyes gave a large homecoming crowd quite a show, crushing the Kilgore Bulldogs 70-27.

Here's is the numbers on Longoria. Offensively 4 carries for 40 yards and a TB. Defensively 1 INT returned for roughly 80 yards for a TB, fumble recovered and returned roughly 70 yards for a Td. Also, atleast 15 tackles. I know everyone looks at offensive stats, but Longorias performance last night was honestly AWESOME. He also made a HUGE hit on special teams.

Sealy Tiger "O" Line

They allowed Codi Barrett to throw for over 300+ yards and 4 TD's and Bradley Miller to a record evening with what must have been 250 receiving yards.

Unsung heros that never get credit or notice.

Way to go Hogs ! Fine effort one and all.

One last push for Derick Longoria for player of the week. Derrick was probally on the sideline only 4 or 5 plays the entire game... if that many. He was the difference maker in the Brownwood/LH game.

Here are pictures of his offensive run to and into the end zone

NO ONE put up the game Godfrey did.

21 of 24 for 360 yards,,,,3TD's
25 yds rushing and 2 Tds

Others are impressive but they don't top his stats. And he went out early in the 4th. I haven't seen anyone with better numbers.
Not sayimg there are none .

  Give the young man the credit he deseves.

He also had 1 KR for some yards. That puts him over 300 total yards for the game. I vote for Trent!!

Here's the deal. Yall are all talking about offensive players. It's rare that a defensive player takes over the game. He is a part time offensive player. However, he dismantled LH from his defensive position.

Well then there's your Player of the Week.

For me.....best stats....will do it...offensive or defense.

My vote moves from Godfrey to Bell.
Sides that Bell got railroaded out on that poll a couple of weeks ago and my dander still has not settled on that one.

1 vote for Bell...,for what its worth.

Better Cougar?

Longoria. He was a difference maker all the way around. He is not a QB or starting running back so he can't have the offensive numbers. On the defensive side of the ball and the special teams he took control of the game.

All these kids are deserving to be nominated. All had great games.

Still my support goes to Longoria. A lot of kids don't score 2 defensive td's a year, while he did it in a game. I might add these were long returns as well. He added another one on offense. Factor in his special teams play, and this is one of the best performances you will ever see.

Safety. Also kind of like a rover. He is also a great tailback and will prolly be an all state punter. His game last week is one of the most dominating performances I've seen in a long time for any position.

I've seen a many a Qb throw for lots of yards. Rarely have I witnessed a safety take over a game.
