wow, what can i say. Smithville came into this game hoping to get a convencing win and left happy with the W. After a scoreless first qt halletsville put up a score in the middle of the second, extra point was blocked. Smithville answers with one minute left in the half. after 2 personal fouls after the kickoff smithville gave up another score (extra point blocked) to make the score 12-7 at halftime. both deffenses owned the third quarter much like the first. . Smithville kicked a field goal with 7minutes in the 4th to make the score 12-10. Halletsville was looking to run the clock out in the 4th quarter with the 12-10 lead and broke one with uner a minute left in the game (extra point blocked) to make the score 18-10. with 47 seconds left in the game the tigers finaly woke up. the tigers very first offensive postion after the halletsville score smithville score on a 64 yard bomb. smithville then converts a sweet 2pt conversion to tie the game at 18 and send this game to OT. Smithville got the first postion in OT and scored in 3 plays and converted the extra point. Halletsville postion in OT was a 3yard and cloud of dust drive, they scored on a sweep, (there running back had a great night, he got some good stuff) with so many extra points blocked they went for 2, and with what looked like a qb option to either run it in or throw the qb was just swarmed with the tiger D and the tigers came away with the Victory to bump there record to 3-1.

Smithville looked flat for 3quartes and 11min, penaltys droped balls plauged them. the deffense was stout but did not have there same intenstity. But in that last minute and OT Smithville was looking like the tigers of the last two weeks. but to be down almost the whole game and to have the mental toughness to stay in the game and finaly pull it out says alot about where this team has come from. they did not put there heads down, when the first 3quarters did not go there way. they kept on fighting and fighting and edged out this W in a great game.

Way to hang in there Tigers. Looks like the Tigers do not roll over so easily. Go D25!

;) Giddings= top 5 team probably. Bellville/ LaGrange = 10-12 range.

Sealy is top 25ish.

Everyone else is average at best in D 25.

Still a solid district.

And that's an honest opinion. :)

Looks like Smithville finally got a belly full of being everyone's doormat. Things are looking "up" for them.

Oh, not so fast there Kong old buddy. Losing a couple of games to very evenly matched opponents doesn't mean the district isn't powerful. Needville is going to be a force in the layoffs. They probably will meet up with the D1 team from D25. Navasota is an even better team than most folks on here gave credit. I am not surprised that they beat a tough Bellville team. If either of these teams meet again in the playoffs who knows? Bottom line D25 still is a tough district.

In the first game of district play La Grange plays Bellville in the Pasture and Sealy plays Giddings at home. After that week the district race should be much clearer.
