Here at Llano there are 32 suited up for Varsity Football. That equates to 6.2% of the student body being on the Varsity football team. We just played Bandera and they had 23 suited up. I looked for players with jerseys on that were not suited up but did not see any. That equites to 2.8% of the student body. I am just wondering what %'s high schools have. I already know I will here back from schools with the highest %'s.

I am not kidding. But let me tell you, the ones that were suited up were athletic.

I think Celina is around 550 this year.
143 boys playing at last count. 28 percent?

West has about 42 or 43 on varsity, but some of those kids were on the j.v. and were moved up. West doesn't have a j.v. this year. 2 freshmen teams and varsity.

Here in Edna we have right around 400 students in the High School, down significantly from the last realignment.
We have about 80 kids playing football and we field 3 teams, freshmen, JV, and varsity, suiting up 28 varsity players. We also have 100 kids in band (some jr high kids there).

Another dad and I were looking at the numbers the other day and between all our sports teams, band, student council, and FFA, just about every kid in school is involved in some sort of extracurricular activity.
Coach Pierce has done a good job getting kids out and our Principle does a very good job getting kids involved that may not have been inclined to join in. I like what I see.

I'll have to go check Cuero's numbers but it seems to be down from past years - but we all know - it's Quality not Quanity :)

just counted from the roster - so it may be a few more or less now
Varsity - 37
Jr Varsity - 26
Freshman - 28

Enrollment 630

I have no idea how to do the percentage :p

On average Liberty Eylau will suit out close to 60 on varsity but they shuffle some between JV and V so probably closer to 80 kids or 10%.

Monahans: Around 582 students which of course about half that are male so around 291 divided by 4 grade levels 72.75 males per grade.

Varsity 38 players
27 Sr.
9 Jr.
2 Soph.

J.V. 33 players
10 Jr.
23 Soph.

Fresh 38 players

Out of 73.25 Seniors 27 play football
Out of 73.25 Juniors 19 play football
Out of 73.25 Sophomors 25 play football
Out of 73.25 Freshmen 38 play football

Think Palacios has only 22 on varsity or that that many when the season started

Fort Stockton has 38 on the varsity football team.

Approx. 600 in high school.

Farmersville suits up 25 on varsity with about 430 enrollment. That's 5.8%. I think about 65 total players in high school or 15% of total enrollment. If males make up half the total enrollment then that would be only 30% of high school boys play football. That's pathetic in my book.
