Expensive Air Filters

Went to get my oil changed today in Rosenberg since I was there getting a window visor changed


Said my air filter was bad and wanted $50 for a new one

Told them they can keep it- Will check out Auto parts place tomorrow

I know Honda Air Filters are expensive but $50

I thought around $30 or $40

depends.... stock replacements should be from 5-15$....performance air filters like k&n run 40-75

Sometimes those parts prices get ridiculous. I once had a Dodge Ram pickup about 20 years ago and the timing chain went out. I had a local mechanic lined up to replace it but I had to get him the part. I went to the parts store expecting to pay about $25 to $35 for it but they didn't have it and said I had to go to the Dealer. I was told the same thing at other auto parts stores also. I went to the Dealer and knew I would have to pay extra but when they said $175 I was most unpleasantly surprised but had no choice. And this was the Dealer that the truck was brought from too.

Needless to say I haven't had a dodge vehicle since.
