OMG. They have to go in the record books for most improvement in building a new stadium. I drove by the new stadium Sunday afternoon, and I am speechless. I will try to take some pics next weekend and post them. I have to say that I am proud of Rattler Stadium, but WISD Stadium just flat puts it to shame. The architecture, covered and walled area underneath the stands on both sides, the field, the stands, the chairback seats on the home side, etc.... And the press box sticks up like the San Jac monument in Houston. They left the track at the old stadium, and made the stands much closer to the action.

This link is the stadium under construction, before they walled in the area under the stands (concession, restroom). The fieldhouse is at the top of the picture, and I am told it is state of the art as well.

I was at the very first game in the new stadium, Waller vs
La Marque. It is indeed a beautiful facility, more like a new 5A than a country 4A. Parking is a bit inadequate, but maybe they intend to pave more later. I felt like I was at a Texans game with all the tailgaters and RV's. The home side was packed. I'm sure the crowds must have thinned out some after the grand opening, but it was a great experience.

Only negative was a loss by the Bulldogs.

This will be a good place for some 3A playoff games. :)
