To WTX Coach and Matt 328: As you might have noticed, I don't comment about HS basketball- I call it "bump and bang ballet". However, I think Bridge City has made the Playoff only once in the last 3 years-out weakest sport by far. I just wanted to share with you however, that the 9th grade team, beat Kountze by about 20 points the other night. Now down here, anyone that beats Kountze in round ball has accomplished something. Brock Haymon, a Jumbo, 9th grade Quarterback running and passing sensation, this year...scored 25 points against Kountze. What is interesting, is that these giant young kids like Andrew Havens, off that undefeated 9th grade football team, are agile enough to smoke folks in basketball also. You talk about some BIG/TALL football players that are tough, and now it looks like those skills are transferrable to the basketball court.....Its a tough enough District 21-3A- Kountze, Hardin-Jefferson and Hardin are in the top twenty, from this one District.
