he three remaining local survivors (from left), Albert Simmons, Robert Headrick, and Bill May, who played in Mustang Bowl its inaugural season (1939), were honored before Saturday night’s homecoming game against Monahans.

That is impressive that original Mustangs were out there.

My boss told me that he heard all three of them
could flat out play some ball and were tough as
nails. You figure that the tough as nails part is
why they are still going strong at 88? :thinking:

The one in the middle, Robert Headrick, ( We call him Pap)...still go's 90 to nothing!!!
He has a ranch/farm to the East of me and he drives past my shop several times a day.

That old guy can run with the best of them......he is very wealthy....but still works like he was 60 or 70!!!!
