La Vernia is very salty, big, athletic, well coached. Surprised at the shutout. They say Monahans is the real deal. Abilene Wylie beating Frenship soundly says they are the class of 3a in that area.

Daingerfield-27 Celina-13 Good list, there were few tight games that weren't sppsd to be, and a few blowouts that weren't sppsd to be? Few teams got whacked by injuries. Things starting to shape up. District is on the horizon.

Just surprised they got skunked. Seem like they usually have got at least 1 player who can fly and break one sometime during a game.

I wasn't surprised at all by the Daingerfield/Celina score. Daingerfield is the #1 ranked, defending state champion in 2A. It wasn't but a few years ago they were a 3A team, and they were a good 3A team. They are an even better team now that they have a good coach. They will likely repeat as a 2A state champion this year, too.

Yeah they are good. Good mix of youth and talent and some good seniors. And this year good speed all over. They could repeat. I think that they have a real shot.

Jaw Dropper to me=Denton Ryan 70, Mckinney 63 (I know it's 4A, but that's some incredible numbers!)

Ryan QB had 541 yds passing and 8 TD's.

Isn't he going to Tech? And didn't he throw like 6 TD's the week before?

I just got to jump in here and say---And Celina never schedules anybody that they think can beat them? :D

Yes, and probably. I know in 3 games he has 30 TD's and like almost 1200 yds. Too bad they can't play defense at Ryan.

Lot of folks interested to see how this compares with Bwd game. I think ya'll will have another war on your hands.

Well, honestly, Daingerfield may be 2A, but they ain't your average 2A team. The first time they beat Celina was in the playoffs in 2002 (I believe). Daingerfield was 3A then and it ended the Bobcats home winning streak.

That's what I'm saying, waterboy---there are a lot of 3A's who wouldn't want any part of Daingerfield this season.

That's definitely true. Gilmer has to play them on Sept. 25th. That should be a barn burner, although the Buckeyes have had their number lately, I'm not gonna say they ain't capable of beating us. I don't think it'll happen this year, but the Tigers are very good this year, and could pull off the upset if Gilmer doesn't play the way they are capable.
