I figure it is a day late posting due to games being played yesterday at the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity series.

The Poll's gotta be out there somewhere because I just found this:

Class 5A gets rare 1-2 matchup in Texas AP poll

Class 5A is getting a rare matchup of No. 1 vs. No. 2 in The Associated Press Texas high school football poll.

A shake-up brought on by preseason No. 1 Katy's loss to The Woodlands ended with Cedar Hill on top and Euless Trinity ranked second in the poll released Tuesday. Cedar Hill (2-0) visits Trinity (1-0) on Saturday.

Cedar Hill jumped from No. 2, while Trinity moved up from fourth by overtaking Katy and San Antonio Madison.

It's the first matchup of the top teams in the state's highest classification in at least five years.

This season started with Longview, the top Class 4A team, beating Allen, the No. 2 team in 5A at the time.

The last true 1-2 matchup was in Class 2A in 2006, when No. 1 Mart beat No. 2 Marlin, 31-7.

I wonder if the UIL will ever move the Golden Triangle to Region IV? Being ranked #3 in the State AND #3 in Region III at the same time kind of sucks. Whomever eventually emerges from Region III is gonna be pretty beaten up, yet battle-tested, that's for sure!
