Yes, it is the same Lions that lost last week to Navasota 47-0. They went on the road to Carthage, and were ahead 13-0 going into the 4th quarter. Just didn't have enough gas left to hold off Carthage. If anybody has anymore info about this game, please share, because this is a shocker, and was almost a coffee-spitter.

Great game. I have ties to both teams so here is the skinny.

Game was in Henderson not Carthage.

1st Qtr - Henderson stops Carthage and scores on 1st possession. 7-0 Henderson.
Halftime
3rd Quarter - Henderson QB scrambles out of the pocket under heavy rush. Finds uncovered reciever down field for 75+ yard TD.
13-0 Henderson
4th Quarter - Carthage line starts to wear down Henderson D and scores early in 4th 13-7 Henderson
Carthage starts next 3 possessions near or inside the 50 yard line. Henderson stops them twice but Carthage scores with 30 seconds left.
Final 14-13 Carthage

Henderson played with emotion and won all the early battles. The Henderson QB was very solid (did not play vs. Navasota) and completed a very high percentage of passes. Howevere, like teams everywhere when they needed to run the ball for a 1st down to close the game they could not get it done. Carthage finished like a champion. The Carthage run game is solid but the passing game is suspect. However, they scored on a pass play when they had to have it.

Well Carthage and Henderson are big big rivals so it is not a shock at all that Henderson played better and gave them a good game
