They kicked us out of the stands with about 3 minutes left in the 3rd.

Lavernia is tough and big! Defense is quick. They should be ranked higher than most give them credit for. I'd say possible top 10. they are playing a deep safety cover to try and prevent buffs speed from getting away. The game was going slow yet the clock was running down fast so after halftime, Buffs went into a hurry up offense w/o huddles. This made a big difference and the Buffs scored 2 TDs pretty quick. Missed 2 out of 4 extra points. Buffs have made plenty of mistakes, penalties and such. The 2nd TD for Lavernia was a long pass with a flag. I was watching thru my binoculars and the LV player pushed off right before the ball got there yet the Buffs were called for Defensive pass interference.

I'm going back up there as the radar looks like weather is moving away.

La Vernia scored with 2 minutes left for a lead of 27 - 26 and then Giddings takes the kickoff to the 35 and Giddings scores with a minute left and holds on and beats La Vernia 32 - 27.

WOW, the bears have an awesome team. They will come into your stadium and push you around. Huge atheletic O line. Big fast D. I'd like to see them play Gilmer, Carthage or Celina and I wouldn't bet against them.

They played virtually mistake free football. No fumbles, no interceptions. I think I can count on 1 hand the # of plays that we actually held them or tackled them for a loss. We just happened to be the last team to score.

Buffs fumbled twice and made numerous mistakes and we got penalized plenty. I don't think there were any personal fouls.

Buffs might as well go for 2 points after every TD. Better chance of getting something than nothing. This will cost us someday I fret.

We thought this game would be a hard fought battle which is why we picked it to be our R4 GOTW...we like Giddings, but we also think La Vernia brings a lot of fight to the big games.

Well done buffs and congrats to the Bears for a very strong showing.

Coming back like they did had the partial crowd screaming and high fiving louder than the packed house prior to the lightning storm. I guess this showed that the coach finally recognized the soft coverage and decided to pull the 2 slant passes out and play them. I'm glad he did. Buffs deserve to be at or near the top still.

I saw one Buff defensive player holding his arm like he had a shoulder stinger or worse. I hope he's ok. Also, I saw #5 wearing a knee brace after getting hurt against Liberty Hill. We sure need him back to shore up the secondary. He's a great player and a really hard hitter.
