Celina and TCA battled it out. Celina had its chances ...

Tough to take a loss as a Bobcat fan, but this game is going to be huge ... Celina got to meet the bruising back ... early in the season as opposed to the state championship.

Daingerfield next Friday ... should be interesting ...

I was also at the game. A couple corrections to this thread. First, TCA did not run a kick back for a TD. After the kick return, their QB went straight up the middle on the first play from scrimmage for a TD. Second, TCA's late fumble was apparently caused when our nose tackle swiped the ball after the center moved it. Need to comfirm this. Basically, TCA's QB ran circles around our defense tonight. We just couldn't stop him. We also had a couple of turnovers that hurt us. TCA played us tougher than the score indicated last year, and they are a very good team. We have a long way to go to be a state contender, though last year taught us losses are not the end of your season.

And ... Gainsville had so much success in JV that they decided to eliminate their Varsity football program.

I was one of the broadcasters of the game, and it was a challenge in a lot of ways.

First, to Keith7, Prosper actually left at halftime of one our games a few years back. They won the state championship last year. A lot can change. Celina was a doormat at one point. TCA is a very good team. Very good. Don't discount their win by bringing up how your JV used to beat them.

Now, to the challenges...

1. We had to broadcast outside, and not in a press box, and they set up our broadcast table in the middle of the visiting stands. The crowd noise and the wind noise wreaked havoc on our sound.

2. Celina needs to eliminate some mental mistakes. Offsides penalties, not knowing how to line up on offense on certain plays and having to burn timeouts, etc. The penalties came in some bad situations.

3. The speed of Catalano from TCA was great. His ability to break tackles was even greater. He did a number on the Celina defense and rushed for over 300 yards.

4. The officials seemed very unsure of themselves and incompetent at times. On the play that MN95 mentioned earlier, they had to have a three minute conference on what to do. Starting the clock early (after a penalty and incomplete pass), basically tackling #11 from TCA on one play where the ref couldn't get out of the way, no calls on both sides, not knowing that a personal foul penalty was 15 yards, etc. It was comical for both teams playing so hard to have refs like that. They didn't lose Celina the game, but they just looked so foolish.

Nah ... Before the season started ... I felt like the Bobcats would be solid this season ... and then bang the team looks sloppy in game 1 and then takes a tough loss in game 2.

I was late getting home and decided to try to listen to the game instead of driving in to Addison and getting to the game at half-time.

I am a bit baffled by the defense last night. It sounded to me like the D got flat out ... run over. The defense did not have to play very many plays against the TCA O, so fatigue could not have been the issue.

And I am feeling like the O is sloppy ... or maybe just inconsistent.

I think I will probably be worried if the Bobcats can't adjust and make a game out of it with Daingerfield this week.

This week ... ol' Benny will be there to sneak into the opposing team's huddle and get to the QB's shoe laces.

I picked Celina to win it all in the pre-season, but after watching them scrimmage Lovejoy and seeing them lose to TCA.....Celina may be in trouble!!!! I foresee them losing to Daingerfield and Whitehouse and literally limping into district play where the WILL LOSE TO PROSPER FOR THE 2nd YEAR IN A ROW NOW!!!! Trust me, we just played Prosper last night and they are the real deal again this year! They were hands down heads and tails above what I saw in the form of Celina thus far! Prosper will win and possibly win big again this year! I think Celina may struggle with a pretty salty Argyle team. I do not foresee this Celina team making it past the 3rd round ot the playoffs! I know I am gonna make some Celina fans furious on here, but I have got to call it like I see it! Celina is not the dominant team this year and they are very vulnerable and some teams are gonna get some payback on them this year! Trust me....Prosper is the real deal again this year and will make another title run I think!

I do not think it will make many furious ... looking at the schedule I did not expect Celina to lose this game against TCA, but TCA did play very tough last season too. Last season's score just does not show it. So ... its not like last night's game knocked me over with a feather.

And ... it looks like Prosper is rolling ... and Prosper's D has not been scored upon. Not sure, but last season Prosper's O put up many more points on their first two opponents. But either way ... the Eagles do sound like they are solid.

And ... obviously solid is not a word that can be used to describe the Bobcats ........ yet.

Yes, Prosper is solid to say the least! Their running back # 7 is small, but faster than grease lightning and when you hit him you better hold on for dear life because his uniform is soaked in crisco cooking oil I think! lol....He is one shifty little sucker! Very hard to bring down! #17 runs the slant to near perfection and is a very big target, but an even bigger threat on defense I think! Prosper is tough as nails defensively and doesn't have a bad offense either! I look for them to repeat as district champs and possibly state champs!
