Yeah we're getting a good Tstorm right now. I have no idea how the weather is in Seminole though. They havent said anything about it on the radio yet.

High School OT isnt like the pros. Its not sudden death. Each team gets the ball on the 25 and tries to score. If its still tied, they do it again, then again. Most will choose to go on D first, so they know what they need to do when they get the ball.

The Sweetwater Mustangs worked hard this week and it showed in this game. The Mustangs played a more seasoned Seminole team in their backyard, and still almost won the game forcing it to overtime, before Seminole intercepted a Mustang pass and the offense scored from the 1 yard line to win the game.

I agree. Brownwood has a new coach too but we have been a spread team for quite some time now, Shipley made changes but not that drastic. You guys are learning a completly different system. I am not saying if it is better or worse but it is way different, gonna take some time to learn for sure! As much as it pains me to say it, Sweetwater will be good by the time district comes around... That's just what they do!

After 2 games? The second of which they showed drastic improvement over game 1.
They had a chance to beat a very good Seminole team on its home turf, and almost did. If not for lots of mistakes, they would have. But even those lots of mistakes were far fewer than last week. It's still a work in progress and will take time, and I think anyone who knows football realizes that. Still, I think we'll be a pretty good football team by mid season, that will compete well every week. How many wins will come with that? Probably not as many as we would all like. But who knows?
It took the great W.T. Stapler and staff 4 years to build a state championship team, so I think we all know these things dont happen over night. At least I can see we are finally headed in the right direction. Now we just have to let it happen.

My expert opinion (junior high coach haha) was that Sweetwater was doing just fine with the scheme they had that was winning 9-11 games most years.

I know its going to take time for Slaughter to get his system going - just didn't think there would be trouble against a West Texas team that Sweetwater has owned in recent memory.
