I think if I had to pick a player of the week out of this region, it would definitely be Brian Bell from China Spring. 458 yards and 7 td's passing, with 5 of those td's by halftime.

LH still ranked that high after being held to a goose egg?

Z-RO

Brownwood looks to be ranked a little low as well. Bridgeport only beat Breckenridge by 21 but The wood beat a 4A team. Just saying..

RM, I'm surprised you don't you know by now---Anybody Brownwood beats could have beaten most 4A powers---and they only lose to teams that could beat most 5A teams. :D

Suprised at the Monahans rank, they got beat by private school Midland Christian. I guess time will tell.

Excuse me my mistake, Burnet was 4A last realignment. But still its a more impressive victory then beating Breckenridge.

Im assuming that is a shot at me. Anyways I am not a Brownwood fan, I was just stating the obvious minus the oversight about Burnet.

Not a shot at you, Z-RO---just having a little fun hoping that Rocket or some of the other Brownwood hydrophobics were hanging around this thread. Brownwood did beat a better opponent than we did in week 0. The Bulls will have a better test against 4A Mineral Wells next week, and the really acid test with Prosper the following week.

Hey Z-RO. When it comes to early polls, the quality of opponent
means much less than the potential of the ranked team. If college
polls looked at it at the same way you do, all the top ranked teams
Would drop for beating teams like Arkansas St.,Louisiana-Layfayette...etc.

Yes, and? If you think LaVega is gonna run all over us again, you would be wrong. We gave up 37 yards rushing to Burnet while playing a pass defense.

I believe the final score was was Monahans 35
Midland Christian 24. Monahans stud QB had
suffered an injury before the season that is gonna
take a long time to get back to a 100%. Eithe way,
It was an impressive win for the Loboes.

ya you were pretty closee red, but the game wasn't as close as the score seems. The loboes were up 36-6 at half and 43-6 halfway through the third. The 2nd and 3rd teamers played from then on and gave up a lot of big pass plays.

I can't wait to see what monahans can do when they're stud qb is 100%. I heard he is supposed to play agianst sweetwater. Monahans will finally get revenge for the loss last year!

Heard Monahans was up 43 to 6 midway through the third then the backups came in to play but Midland Christian left in the starters. Sounds like it could have been uglier. Great win Loboes!

I'm not saying this to make Brownwood look better, but Burnet is a very sold ballclub. I was very impressed with them. They have good size, speed, and the QB is very accurate. (He was 24-32). I'll admit the Lions had to claw till the very end to beat the Dogs. Watch this team because they'll have a good year.

I would have Burnet in this top ten. LH got blanked, Snyder got beat, and not to sure but I thought Midland Greenwood was down this year.

Hey DaHop...

Last year I couldn't wait for us to play Big Spring
and was worried about Snyder.

Given this year's score between Snyder and Big Spring
And after watching the Snyder scrimmage...

I am worried about Big Spring, Snyder well not
so much.

I would agree with you (on Burnet in the top ten) if Brownwood's WR had played in that game and the score was the same. LH and Synder will be in the top ten for Reg I went it is all said and done.

P.S. Don't forget that LH and Synder played two very good teams!

I agree. And although Snyder got beat, I walked away impressed with how they played overall, especially being the first game of the year. They will improve.
