Just saw on Caller.com that WO junior Brandon Villarreal was sent to the hospital after the game and remains in ICU. No word on what's going on, but it does say that he was feeling woozy and nauseous.

Hoping that it's "just" a minor consussion.

I will include Brandon Villarreal, in my personal prayers for a speedy recovery.

I was wondering what had happened, it looked serious when they were getting him ready to put him on the stretcher. I know they took alot caution, as they took a while to get him on the stretcher and into the ambulance. Trainers from both team were assisting, even Coach Stumbaugh.

Please keep us up-to-date big daddy russ.

From Sinton too. This is terrible news and we hope the young man makes a complete recovery.

I wish Brandon a speedy recovery as well.

I was at the game as well as FootballGal, and no one had a clue what happened to Brandon.

It happened on a punt play, and since the action was elsewhere on the field, no one saw what happened on the line of scrimmage, where the injury occurred.

While the West Oso coaches/trainers were tending to Brandon, you could easily hear him screaming in pain and can also see him flailing his legs as if he was in extreme pain. Originally, I thought he had possibly broken something up high, possibly a collar bone. But when they brought out the stretcher I started thinking it was something more serious, like a neck injury. But now with this news out, I have no clue what happened or how.

They aren't releasing many details because of medical privacy concerns, but apparently he's doing better and they plan more tests on Monday:

This sort of thing really puts the score in perspective.
