Any thoughts or predictions on the game on Friday in Sinton. Hopefully the Pirates get off to a good start to their season.

I think Goliad plays Sinton very tough this Friday night.

Franklin was their all everything, but that big ole #75 (I think) was a huge part of their success last year. He owned the middle when he was on D and I think he also graded out very well on O.

Not a bad first quarter. The defense came up big when they had to, but the offense really needs to cut down on the penalties. Didn't they have the same problem this time last season? Too many offensive penalties.

it was good win to start the season(despite the false starts) and almost identical like last year score, Sinton 35 Goliad 18 but much different game as last year Sinton scored several defensive touchdowns.

I had to go to Corpus Christi last night and unfortunately didn't get back until about 10:15. Imagine my surprise when the lights at the stadium were still on so I drove by to look at the score and was surprised again when I saw it was Sinton 29 Goliad 12 with 9:50 left in the game. I jumped out of the car and let my wife go on home and went and watched the game. I had seen some lighting on my way back so it wasn't hard to figure there was a game delay but I had more surprise when I saw the stands with lots of vacant seats and hardly anyone standing like usual. Plus our band was gone! Anyway I watched the rest of the game.

Good job Sinton Pirates and a great effort by Goliad.
Credit to the Goliad Band for sticking it out and supporting their team.
