Wylie To Offer Powder Puff Football

Wylie will have a powder puff football league this fall hosted by the junior class as a fund raiser for the 2010 Prom.
Any high school girl interested in playing will need to come to an informational meeting at Beltway Baptist Church July 29th from 5:30-7 p.m. Sign-ups will be July 29th and 30th from 5:30-7 p.m. each night.
Girls can form their own teams, but a representative from each formed team needs to attend the meeting and present their list of members. Girls who want to play but do not have a team will be placed on a team.
The cost for each team member will be $20 and a medical release form will be required. If you are unable to come during the sign-up times, you may obtain an application and medical release from the Wylie administration office during regular business hours. Send your application, medical release and money to the meeting with your team representative or a teammate or mail it to Leslie Wilson, 8126 Saddle Creek, 79602.
Each team will be assigned a head coach, who will be a member of the Wylie senior class. The teams will play 11-man flag football according to the Powder Puff Football League Rules. The teams will consist of a minimum of 17 players and a maximum of 25 players and will choose their own assistant coaches.
Games will be played on Sunday afternoons beginning Aug. 30th on the practice field behind the Doghouse. Regular season play will continue through Sept. 20th. The championship game will be played on Oct. 1st in Wylie's new Bulldog Stadium.
So get your team together by July 29th and come join the fun while helping raise money for the prom.
