2009 3A Week 0 Schedule and Scoreboard

I've compiled the Week 0 scoreboard for the 2009 season, which can be found below and also on the "State Scores" link off the main page of this site which can be reached from the link below.

All games can be assumed to be scheduled for Friday evening unless a Thu (for Thursday games) or Sat (for Saturday games) is present in the table.

There are two Week 0 matchups between Ranked teams (according to the 3ADownLow rankings):
#5-Giddings vs #12-Liberty Hill
#13- Brownwood vs #25-Burnet

Thats great, thanks. FYI, the Brownsboro vs. Kemp game is in Van's new stadium (Friday). Van plays there the night before. Hopefully, we add a game or two in the future.

After watching our scrimmage with LH, I would say 2,000 yards
this year would be streching it. They do have a couple of tough runners but lack breakaway speed, time will tell.

It's not my rankings... It's the official 3ADownLow rankings and I believe it was a GILMER poster that ranked Gilmer #25 purposely on their submitted vote so that they WOULDN'T be #1 to avoid the jinx

WOS87 is right. There were a number of Gilmer posters who purposely put the Buckeyes lower in the rankings so they could avoid that #1 ranking. I think I put them in at #7 on my poll, but of course I don't believe my own poll..........:D

I've found the results of ALL Friday night games except for the Wharton-Rice Consolidated game.

I know that the West Columbia game had to be suspended with 6:28 left in the 3rd Quarter due to lightning so the same thing may have happened with Wharton.

If anyone knows please let me know and I'll update the board.

Yes the Wharton vs. Rice Cons. was susp. at half. 12-14

West Columbia will be 0-0 next week maybe the same for Needville and Wharton.

Usually if at least 2 quarters are played the score at the time the game was suspended counts. That's how it used to be, so I would think West Columbia would be 1-0

According to reporters at the game the records will remain 0-0. Not really sure what it will be next week.
