Why would Early want to scrimmage them and drive that far to go to Sweetwater? There are plenty of 2A schools around the area... Heck Goldthwaite is a pretty salty 1A right down the road they could have scrimmaged.

Goldthwaite scrimmaged Bangs today, so they were not a possibility. Most of the 2A schools around here are in the same district already.

We struggled offensively on the first series. Did some good things defensively during the scrimmage, we are better on that side of the ball. Moved the ball better in the 2nd and 3rd series, dropped alot of passes. Defense is ahead of the offense at this point, but that's pretty normal for this time of year. We hit well and I liked our agressiveness. We looked at alot of kids in alot of places and we really use this first scrimmage to evaluate. Our kids have worked extremely hard the first 2 weeks and I think we saw some kids really step up. Got alot of things to work on but that's why you scrimmage ... to find those things out. But we are better, just have to keep working.

I read on texashs.com that is was Early 3, Lamesa 0.
