Andrews returns 15 starters from last year's 2-8 team. RB Kyler Gilbreath returns as the Mustang's top tackler, rusher and passer. WR Jordan Estrada is a big-play threat on offense after posting 676 yards receiving with 5 TDs. The Mustangs should should be in the hunt for a playoff berth in head coach Jeff Cordell's second season.

Brownfield returns 11 starters from last season's 4-6 squad. RB Trenton Jobe (350 rushing) along with QB Jasper Fininen return to lead the offense. DT Oscar Madrigal will lead the defense after posting an all-district season in '08. The Cubs could emerge from the middle of the pack to earn a playoff spot.

Lamesa returns 19 of 22 starters from last season's 1-9 team. QB Daveonn Thomas returns after a breakout sophomore season, posting 1,579 yards passing and 522 yards rushing with 20 total TDs. RB Lupe Gonzales is primed for solid '09 season. The Golden Tornadoes could be in the mix for a playoff berth as a ton of young players gained valuable experience last season.

Greenwood returns 8 starters from last season's 7-5 area finalist team. The defense should be the strength of the squad with the return of LB's John Brown (81 tackles, 4 sacks) and Bevan Moody (86 tackles) and DT Nikki Williams. PK Mark Burfeind gives the Rangers solid special teams play after earning HM all-state honors. Greenwood has made the playoffs 10 straight seasons, and this year shouldn't be any different.

Monahans returns 12 starters from last year's 10-3 regional semifinalist squad and should be even stronger in '09. QB Quincy Titus returns after posting phenominal numbers as a junior (1,128 rushing, 8 TDs; 1,144 passing, 14 TDs). On defense, DE Trevor Owens is the top returning player in WTX after totaling 101 tackles, 10 TFL, six FFs, five sacks and four blocked kicks. OG Kevin Coldewey (225-lbs), DT Shaquille Smith (310-lbs) and LB Ty Horton were all-district performers. The Loboes have the athletes to make a run at the state title.

Seminole returns 13 starters from last season's 7-5 regional semifinalist team. Defense will be the Indians strength, led by all-state NT Daniel Allen (51 tackles, 6 sacks), LB Chago Gomez (61 tackles, 4 sacks), LB Luis Mendoza (55 tackles) and DL Fernando Moncayo (57 tackles, 3 sacks). Michael Navarro is expected to start at QB after posting 160 yards receiving with 2 TDs along with 3 INTs on defense. The Indians will challenge Monahans for the top spot in District 3-3A.
