Summer Vacation

We just got back from Ruidoso, NM (elevation nearly 7000 feet) on Saturday. The "heat vacation" was just what we needed. Here's a couple of pictures from our trip that I think most of us in Texas have forgotten can exist:

We're already sick of the 100+ heat again, and we've only been back for less than 48 hours.

This is when the "Dog DaysOf Summer" start kickin in for me. Don't wanna mow the lawn so I cut back on the waterin. Waterin today because the front yard startin to look like crap. Mow the back yard tomorrow. I'd just as soon sit in the cool AC with a cold beverage in my hand. The good thing is October is not far away and our cool summer starts.:D

For three consecutive years now we have taken a Halloween cruise on Carnival the week of Halloween. I am now wondering why we don't do this in August instead of Oct. The only saving grace for this month is the start of football. Hell, most days it's almost too hot to go to the lake.............Almost!!!!

We moved my son and his family to Lake Palestine this past weekend.

It took me a couple of days to get used to the humidity and when I finally got where I could stand it, it was time to come home.

I don't care for those "all work and no play" vacations....especially when you are sitting 25 feet from the lake!!:(

We went to South Padre Island. I got to go to the Pelican West Club and hear a great band play. Very nice indeed.
