Just wondering how may fans have no kids playing, but still go to the games. This is the mark of a true high school football fan. I have a friend (bout 75 and Wylie fan) who will, if necessay, drive miles away to watch -- oh the Yellow Hammers. He is my hero.

My kids are grown and I have no sons anyway. I go to a game almost every week during the season, just because it's fun. My wife does not understand, but doesn't complain.

My 2 are 7th and 8th grade. Both play and can't wait to see high school. We go to the majority of the games, home and away.

My son is 25, daughter is 21. I have not missed a Brownwood game in a little over 20 years.

No kids playing. Unless you count pee wee. I go to almost all the games. Miss only when the drive and work conflict.

My boys have long been off the fields in Gobbler Land - They are 33, 31 and 21 - we still go to football, basketball and baseball games and track meets as often as possible - have for as long as I can remember.

I'm closing in on 64, had a girl in the band 10 years ago and played in the stone age for Burnet. Have not missed a home game (season tickets) since the early 80's and make 80% of the away games. Watching and studying high school football (not just Burnet) is one of my great passions. I have every copy of DCTF since it began and have a current copy of the Texas Almanac next to my easy chair at all times.

I do not have any sons and no girls in high school, but attend all Brownwood home games and about 80% of the out of town games. :D The odd thing is, the further the game the more likely that I will attend.

My response is why wouldn't you go to High School Football games on Friday night. Not going is like saying the sun rises in the West.

I've been out of school for a while, and so has my brother, and my parents still go to just about every game. I go to everyone that I can make it in for. Soon as I get out of Fayetteville, Friday nights will be for football only.

I've driven thousands of miles following a team that I didn't even attend school at
