I've never seen this before. Not sattelite, but birds eyes views of locations. Scarier then the above satellite views as they are much clearer.

You can see a lot of famous land marks and stuff. I found our stadium using this site and it's a higher resolution but it links to the link above.

The birds-eye view is much clearer than the aerial view.

That can be a complete time waster if you let it.
I just spent 30 minutes trying to figure out when the aerials were taken. I'm thinking 2005 - I found my old car from college in front of my apt and my old roommate's too

I think it's a lot more recent then that.
The ones of Forney were taken in early 2008. I know this because Forney got their turf in Summer 07 and the don't pull out our jumping pits until track season, and I can see my truck in the parking lot.
Cowboys stadium has an arch up too.

You can rotate it and it will go back or forward in time. One view of Texas Stadium has a perfect white roof, but if you rotate 90* it's from before they repainted it.

Good point - probably different parts of the state were done at different times. For example, Breckenridge isn't even available.
But I know Austin is 2005 - my old apartment complex wasn't even built on the map then.

Guess they haven't gotten the cameras down here to "hooterville" yet :(

I like finding stuff from this map because the screen is bigger at least for me.
