Why must we generalize people and take away their individuality?

That sounds far too much like communism for my tastes.

Oh, and since you didn't make it multiple choice.....

Band Nerd and Basketball Bench Warmer (mostly) and also ran track......UIL number sense & spellling.

Kickers or grits, "hippies", jocks and geeks in my school. Of course, the geeks carried slide rules. :p

I played all sports in school and was generally involved in alot of academic groups. Success wise, I was a better student thatn student athlete. I did perform place kicking duties in football, and was a four year starter at catcher in baseball. Basketball was not my sport and I generally played so that the starters had someone to make a fool of in practice. In track I ran the mile run.

I saw that someone above used the bench warmer title---well, except for baseball, I generally played that coveted position of left out.

Of course. I went to high school before redneck was a common term and I had long hair and bell bottom pants but loved country music. I also worked cows, hauled hay and watermelons.

I guess since freak was not listed, I'm other.

I dated (and married) the "dude with the van" in high school. you'll can figure out which group I was in :p That van was "tricked out" :)

We didnt' have girls athetics when I was in school. I was in the very first drill team @ Cuero High (Trotters) when I was a Sophomore. We didn't have a class period - we practiced @ 6:15 AM before school each morning. Those bus trips to the 44 games in a row were MEMORABLE ;) Between Trotters, FTA and "the van" I was a busy girl. (actually, the "van" was sold shortly after we started dating - something about my daddy and a shotgun - I never got the entire story) :p :p

I voted other......I'm lettered in Track, Basketball, I was a band nerd, I was on the home coming court, I was a motocross junkie after school, I was a gear head, I hung out on the beach and surfed on weekends, I was a tad redneck, we drag raced on the back road almost every sat. night........I cannot be classified or pinned into one demographic!! I'm a social shape shifter!! :D

I went to Pampa high school for a little while. Very diverse, Kicker Corner, Soul City etc.. I played Basketball so we were in that clique. The hs I graduated from most of our graduating class was very close, most were playing sports so that is who we hung with. If I had lived in a coastal town I would have been a SURFER DUDE!!

I voted "other".

I was the class clown and loved to make people laugh.

I wasn't athletic but I was a sports fan.
I wasn't rich, so I hung out on the corner of Neff and Canfil streets in Sweetwater and drank alot.
I certainly wasn't good looking, so I played in a garage band.

In spite of all of my short comings...I still loved high school.

I did a lot of stuff, band, color guard, worked concession stand, stu co, FCCLA etc. had a job that I worked 30-35 hrs a week and kept a's and b's in school.. I wonder when I slept!

Football--Played mostly Right Guard and on defense Middle Linebacker(Monster)...Actually played in the first game BC had when I was a Freshman.

Track--ran halfmile & mile.

Even played on the boys HS Volleyball team which we had back then

Swimming, water skiing(in it's infancy LOL) & shrimping.

I guess I was considered a nerd. My best friend was a Mexican named Pedro. I got him elected as student body president because of my dancing skills. After that I went off the deep end. Started acting like my dad and working all the time, mostly at home while he was earning the money to pay the bills.
Let's see, I was hay-hauler, maze cutter, calf brander, pig puller, sheep shearer, bull rider and hoof clipper. Oh yea, I drank a little, dipped a lot and smoked a few (you pick 'um).
