Roosevelt is one of only two current 3A football programs to have met actual 5A enrollment qualifications AND competed in the 5A classification since the inception of 5A in 1980 with West Orange-Stark being the other current 3A program.
Roosevelt was 5A for the entire decade of the 1980's dropping to 4A in 1990 and subsequently dropping to 3A in 2004.
Current 3A program Zapata has also competed in 5A but they chose to move up a classification in order to decrease travel expenses (they had a 4A enrollment at the time).
