former Gonzales QB goes to Baylor

I would just like to congradulate 2002 Gonzales graduate Dane King, after making All-American at the JUCO level at Blinn, on signing his LOI to play at Baylor. I know I and other former Gonzalians are excited to see one of our own make it to the D-1 level. Been awhile in football for any Apache, especially at QB. Good Luck Dane

Yeah, I believe the last one was Steven Steen, who went to Tech. That was around 89-90. Gonzales has had some D1 basketball players. Deginald Erskin went to North Texas his first two years, sat out a year, then transfered to UT (got to play in The Final Four last season.) And Darryl Dora is a freshmen at Tech now and is being drilled to death by Bobby Knight. Those two keep the Gonzales Inquirer sports page pretty busy.
