This is the most disturbing and heartbreaking news I've heard in a long time. Craig Boatwright #87, defensive end for Everman collapsed and died this morning @ 8:15am. From what I heard, Boatwright was running and collapsed, the trainer was on site, but nothing could be done. The Kennedale staff & football team sends out its greatest condolences to the Boatwright and Everman families.

is it really necessary to say why he was running, especially when youre not even sure.

What terrible, terrible news. I have nothing but the deepest sympathy for this young man's family, teammates and everyone involved in this young man's life. When you send your children off to school in the morning you never think that you will never see them again. I can't imagine a pain any deeper than losing a child. Go home today and hug and tell your kids how much you love them. I know I will.

New Information:Everman football player dies
By Carlos Mendez
Star-Telegram Staff Writer

Everman senior football player Craig Boatwright died Thursday morning after collapsing on the running track at the school.

Boatwright, a defensive end/tight end who had committed to TCU, was running with coach Erik McGuffin when the senior collapsed at 7:45 a.m., superintendent Dan Powell said.

McGuffin checked for a pulse and began to administer CPR. He was joined by a trainer and a passer-by called 911, the superintendent said. Powell said Boatwright, 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, was taken by ambulance to Hughley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m.

I can think of no greater loss than one of a child. May God bring peace to the friends and family.

Once again moms and dads - don't forget to hug your kids tonight....

May God keep the all in in the cup of his hand and comfort them as only He can.

It's hard to to even fathom such a tragedy.

Absolutely horrible news. I hope that the community is somehow able to overcome this and bond rather than letting it become a distraction. May God help the family of this young man during this time.

times like this you realize what we are talking about on 3adownlow, high school football, is just a game that doesn't matter in the big picture... i'm sure we'll all be praying for his family, the football team and the town.

What a terrible loss! We with our finite minds can never understand these losses. We would do well not to even ask why. The only thing we can do is "turn it over to the Lord". That sounds so
easily said but we really have to apply it to our lives. We really need to come together to support
each other of the Boatwright family, the Everman family. We need to encourage each other.

We never understood Corey's tragic injury, but it
certainly brought the Everman family and the Burnet family close. We will certainly pray for this precious family, the Everman coaches and team. You have our heartfelt condolences.
Deepest regard,
GreatBigBurnetFan

I'll keep Craig in my prayers. Almost doesn't seem so long ago (almost a year) when Corey was paralyzed...Time is flying so fast.
