For those that aren't familiar with the area, Orangefield is an unincorporated area of Orange County essentially consisting of the central area between the cities of Orange, Bridge City and Vidor. It is the 2nd oldest varsity football program to compete in the UIL from Orange County (after Orange High in 1909) due to the fact of a major producing oil well being discovered there in 1913 twelve years after the Spindletop oil find in Beaumont with a subsequent influx of population. The school is still located outside of any specific town's city limits. If you drive through the area you'll still see quite a few oil wells.

Nice job WOS87

Unfortunately, most of the oil derricks were destroyed by Hurricane's Rita and Ike. Very few still standing.

I must admit I haven't been over that way since before BOTH Hurricanes... my Aunt was a Mathematics teacher at Orangefield High School for many years from the '70's up until recently
