UPDATE: The history has been updated through the end of 2009.

Jasper potentially could end up having the misfortune of being one of the only teams in the state this season to have played 3 eventual State Champions in 11 games.

As it is, they played 3A D1 Champ Gilmer TWICE, 3A D2 Finalist (and possible Champ) Carthage once and 2A D1 State Finalist Kirbyville.

2 out of 11 games against eventual Champs,
4 out of 11 games against eventual State Finalists
7 out of 11 games against Playoff qualifiers

Ouch! Despite that gauntlet they still ended the season with a very respectable 8-3 record.

don't know whether to celebrate or to cry! tuff year, great year.

If Carthage wins this week, all three losses were to state champions. Unfortunately, caught Gilmer in the first round else might have gone further into the playoffs.
