My mom use to live there. She always talks about how good Breck was back in the late 40's and 50's. Now I see why.

5 3A State Championships in 9 years from '51-'59 BEATING the eventual 4A State Champs Wichita Falls and Abilene 3 different years ('50, '54 and '58) giving them a very strong argument as being the best team in the state despite competing in the 2nd largest classification at the time.

They ran into recruiting allegations eventually, didn't ever have any official sanctions placed against them by the UIL but they never really returned to the form they had in the '50's

UPDATE: The history has been updated through the 2009 season. Despite their relatively poor showing the past few seasons Breckenridge still maintains one of the higher all-time winning percentages in the state

Question for you WOS...

In 1964... did they really lose 147-0 to Hirschi? Or should that be 14-7?

Breck actually lost 0-14...
