Just like last year, the non-district schedule will be the tell-tale sign. With non district opponents like Jasper, Daingerfield, Liberty Eylua and Kilgore we can't help but either be better or very beat up. I am expecting GREAT things from a defense that brings back almost everyone and a new defensive coordinator with a strong resume. And of course.............everyone knows we will put the points on the board. I really believe a championship run will hinge on our defense and I believe those guys are up for the challenge.

You're definitely right, lostaussie! I think this Buckeye team will go as far as the defense will take them. For all the offensive prowess past teams have had, defense was not a priority. The defense was good in '04, actually ranked #1 in the state going into the championship game, and it'll take that kind of effort to win a championship this year. You can always count on some team somewhere down the line being able to slow your offense down, so there will be a time when the defense will have to carry the team. They must be able to shut down the opposition's offense when needed, and they must be consistent on offense, i.e. not turn the ball over, capitalize on the other team's turnovers, and not get greedy (take what the defense will give you, not shoot for the homerun when it's not there). I like this team's chances, but it'll be a TEAM effort that gets them there if they make it. I know the Army of Buckeyes and I will be there, and have their back, and will enjoy the ride.:thumbsup:

Nope I am driving, but you can have shotgun. After just going to the works over the last weeks this Buckeye team is ready to go. Most of the talk is about winning a game at a time and not looking down the road. 2adays start on the 3rd, but most of the team has been working out since the start of June. Running and Lifting, i cant wait to see them on the field!!!!

Don't worry, p4s! It'll be black on the inside, with a few orange highlights, maybe even a few monogrammed beer mugs for our beverages. You won't be able to see the orange on the outside from the inside!:D After a few beers, you won't care anyway!;)
