According to Texas Monthly, the best burgers in Texas are made at The Grape in Dallas.

Here is the complete list (http://lewp.wordpress.com/2009/07/18/texas-monthly%e2%80%99s-best-burger-in-texas-the-grape/)

Only the best because Griff's which was located in South Dallas near Treasure City and old Chester Clinic Hospital no longer exists. Way back in the 1960s, nothing beat those burgers

The fact that, in Austin, Mighty Fine is ranked and Dirty Martin's and Player's is not renders this list useless.

The best burgers in Texas are made in my back yard. All others are pretenders. That goes for ribeyes and T-bones as well. :D

There's still several Griff's around, only prereq for working there is being on meth and missing all your teeth

Maybe so. But they used to make great hamburgers. At least the one we went to. But it's been 40+ years or so. Too bad you missed it when it was really tastey, and I think you had to have all your teeth then as well.

Lots of good picks, but nothing from South Texas. Nothing. What a joke Texas Monthly is with lists; they RARELY venture south of San Antonio.

There are great burgers in the RGV (i.e. Bertha's in Donna) or even in other cities (like the little cafe in Freer, I forget the name).

The bias is getting way out of hand. And sadly, I'm a subscriber to TM.

My apologies to Port Aransas, as I've even been to that joint. But the jist still stands.

I have never heard of most of these places. My wife makes the best hamburgers that I have ever tasted. I am little biased, but not much.:D

I take five pounds of Black Angus Tenderloin and grind it up at home. Then I flatten out large thin 1/4 pound patties, and set them aside. I then take two of the patties and put candied jalapeno peppers in between them, forming a stuffed 1/2 pound burger. Then I cover them in Cajun seasoning and blacken them on the grill. Red lettuce, Red Onion, on an onion roll, with a Clausen pickle on the side, and you have the best burger known to mankind.

The Food Network voted Perini's as the best in Texas and I agree, I also say them on the Today show where they won the hamburger cooking contest.

Russell's Country Store in the Pleasant Hill community is tops in Nac. Nothing else compares in the area. The closest competition is Mr. Wills. I suggest trying both of them. :D

Tops and Bottoms in Huntville has a nice 1/2 pound burger and the price isn't rediculous $4.00 for lunch

The best burger I can find right now is at Burgers & Billiards in Graham. They also give you home-made fries.

The best burgers I've eaten are at Jucy's and the Butcher Shop in Longview, and The Back Porch in Kilgore. Their fries are good, too.

The one on Samuell closed, but the one on Northwest Hwy is still open I think. They are good burgers. The #5 is my favorite.:inlove:

The Texas Monthly article is completely bogus without mention of Herd's Burgers in Jacksboro. I've consumed burgers all over Texas and the US, and nobody else even comes close!

I know this sounds weird but PJ's Seafood in Victoria has one of the best burgers I have ever had. Seafood is below average but their burgers are out of this world.

My ol' lady said that you will need a chaperon next time you come over, because the last time you were there the toilet was not flushed and the cat got pregnant.

How many times did I warn you before I came over, my parole conditions state that all pets that I come in contact with within 500 yards, MUST be outfitted in a chasity belt. Wasnt my fault

The one on NW HWY is still open, I ate there last year. Nothing better than sitting in the bed of the pickup with a juicky cheese burger and an ice cold long neck!
