This is great news for the Aggies because he is one of the top recruits in the Country and had offers to several out of state schools such as Oklahoma and LSU. The fact he has an offer from Stanford indicates grades won't be a problem for him. I am glad he is staying in state too. I prefer that rather than them going to out of state schools. Good luck Corey! (except when you play UT of course!)

A&M needs an infusion of defensive talent in a big way.

They've got good skill position folks. What's kept them down has been poor defensive and OL play.

The jury is still out on Sherman, but I do think he's a guy that knows how to recruit and develop the big uglies. I've always thought there's plenty of skill position kids to go around in the state. What there's not enough of is high caliber big kids. Typically, UT and OU, and to a lesser extent LSU, get the pick of the litter. The key to Sherman's success, or lack of, will be his ability to get that OL back in shape and get some difference makers on defense.
