Was there ever any REAL proof??? If I had a child that was molested, I would NEVER have settled for any money, no matter the amount!!!

Even if I had lost in the long run, NO ONE would have come back and said I only did it for the money!!!

I don't believe the molestation charges, but I do think his relationship with children was inappropriate. He was a grown man pretending to be a child. Sad really.

How come you are so aghast that people are saddened? What if they believe in innocent until proven guilty? Is that so wrong?

To paraphrase the Nuge..."I don't care if you don't like it, but don't tell me I shouldn't." (He was talking about guns, but that's also pretty much his mantra over everything.)

It is sad. There was obviously something mentally wrong with him. He lost his child hood to being a singer and it's alleged his dad beat him too.

I've read that people who followed the trial, by the end were mostly on the not guilty side.

He was one of the greatest performers and entertainers of all time. He was found not guilty as well I guess this thread just goes to show the way America looks at things today Guilty until proven innocent. To be honest none of us no what really happened so noone can pass a legit judgement on the situation.

There's DEFINITELY a stigma attached to just being accused of child molestation, whether you're innocent or guilty. Once accused, you will never live it down either way. Honestly, I don't know whether he was guilty or not, but that doubt will always be there.

But BB has never been proven NOT guilty.

Michael Jackson was proven innocent of all charges.

MJ was guilty until proven innocent which is what most people look for these days

I have to go with coach on this one. No way would I let any of my kids near the guy even though he was not convicted. I believe in innocent until proven guilty too but I would not be willing to bet my kids on it. Who all on here thinks OJ is innocent... he was proven not guilty too!

I feel sorry for the guy and and his family in his death as I would with any human but I will not miss him or his funky look all over the TV.

Technically he was found guilty, just not criminally. He was found civilly liable in the wrongul death of his wife. He most likely would have been found guilty criminally had it not been for some HUGE mistakes by both investigators and prosecution.

I was just telling the wife that I have come to believe that he never molested those boys but showed incredibly poor judgment. I think because of his sheltered upbringing that he was a very naive person and really could not comprehend how people would interpret his actions. I have also come to believe him very sad...tragic in fact. His incredible talent and fame made him a prisoner of his fame at a very early age and warped his perceptions. He should have been seeing a shrink since he was in his early 20's and maybe, just maybe, he would have not mutilated himself. We 'normal' people certainly cannot comprehend his life. He certainly was giant figure in music and pop culture.

From what I heard he wasn't buried at Forest Lawn where most thought would be his final resting place.

I gotta wonder if the family isn't fighting to have him buried at Neverland!

I know it's against California ordinance, but they could cremate him and spread his ashes there.

I just read, due to all the testing they are doing, he was buried without his brain!!

No....this is no joke!!!

I understand why you might consider all this incredible coverage going way over the top and over-adulation. I watched some of the coverage today and saw "the Rev." Al Sharpton describe Michael Jackson much like the same way he would probably describe Martin Luther King(I think he gave MJ more credit than MLK). I have a problem with that myself. I believe that the way Sharpton described MJ as a great uniter and all did a huge disservice to one who really did that. Yes, MJ was an awesome talent and performer, but how did he actually do more than one of the greatest uniters of our country?
I grew up with Michael's music and loved it. His impact on me was only for the pleasure of music(and learning how to moonwalk as a teenager lol). It didn't bring me happiness. MLK gave millions and millions much more and imho had a much larger impact on all of us the MJ did.

and here, people, is what is wrong with this country

you did nothing just then cept' completely quote what the media fed you, you say he molested children with such confidence and hatred that it almost sounds like your willing to bet your soul on it....im sorry, but looking at it from a pyschological point of view, I can honestly see why he wanted to spend time with kids, he was pretty much wronged by everyone in his family, never had a childhood, fought skin disorders and skin cancer (reasons why he bleached the rest of his skin white) and for the fact you dont feel sorry one bit, that says alot about the kind of person you are....i'm sorry but i think michael was probably a more kind and understanding person than you'll ever be

Looking for reliable sources, etc. look for 1st hand information or reports that cite what they report so you can follow the trail. The information age we live in, it is more important to report the news in a title than in substance! SintonFan is right, the manufacturing of consent by news/media/web etc is vast!!! I just can't stand how the media has portrayed him as some kind of a hero! This man may have been acquitted for child molestation charges in one trial, but settled out of court on another case for millions, and he slept with children in his bed all the time! If it looks like crap and smells like crap, then it probably is crap! I mean, O.J. Simpson was acquitted of murder, but that doesn't mean he didn't do it! If you have money in America, then the criminal justice system is simply your puppet to play with! With enough money, most anyone can win a court case, simply because the jurors that are selected in most cases are idiots! There is only one reason a reasonable person will serve jury duty.....Patriotism! All others are just plain too stupid to get out of it! The jurors that these lawyers agree upon to serve on a criminal trial are the bottom of the barrel in most cases. They are the left wing liberals with bleeding hearts that have absolutely no common sense whatsoever! They intentionally select people who can simply ignore the facts and can have doubt casted into ther minds easily! So, to say that Michael Jackson was acquited, so he must be innocent, is a bunch of bullcrap! People are putting him on a pedestal and worshipping him as some kind of iconic legend and placing him as a "hero!" He is the last person I would want my children to look up to and try to emulate! The real hero's are our men and women serving in uniform, our police and firefighter's, our teachers and coaches, etc....Those are the people I want my children to emulate and idolize! Don't get me wrong....The man was without a doubt probably the greatest "entertainer" ever! However, that does not mean he should be recognized as a hero or legend that deserves all this attention! Our children are safer now that he is gone and he has had to answer for his sins!

TheDOCTORdre
07-08-2009, 11:47 AM
If parents would step up today(in general not, I'm not pointing out anyone) then our children would not have to look farther than their own homes for their heroes. I am proud to say my parents are my heroes.

The teaching to the test is a travesty.
I think the idea behind no-child is a good one but the results have been disastrous. We should have some mechanism that holds schools responsible for the education they provide or the lack thereof.
What happened to the CAT test?

That would be fine IF the schools WERE responsible for a child "left behind". The biggest part of the blame is on the PARENTS and THE SYSTEM (government intervention). Teachers' hands are tied on what intervention plans can be used to help the kids learn. Discipline is the biggest one thing that is causing failures, and in most schools, the student can't be disciplined, the way they should be, at school. That leaves the parent responsible for the discipline, and some (I dare say the majority) of parents just don't GET it. As long as this is the case, our education system will continue on a downward spiral. It's definitely a "cop-out" to blame teachers, at least for the most part, in my opinion.

Surprisingly enough, I don't have an opinion about Michael Jackson, good, bad or otherwise.

I do, however, have an opinion about Al Sharpton - He's an idiot!:)

He has been burried in a secret place. Look for the Globe or some other type magazine to find it.
