On Sunday, July 4, 1976
#1 at the Box Office---"The Omen"
#1 Album---"Wings At The Speed of Sound"- Paul McCartney & Wings
#1 song---"Love Hangover"---Diana Ross
#1 song (country)---"All These Things"--- Joe Stampley

In Sports......
Bjorn Borg & Chris Evert win Wimbledon singles titles

Cale Yarbrough takes checkered flag at the Firecracker 400

In baseball, Yankees(46-27), Royals(46-29), Phillies(52-22) and Reds(48-31) lead their respective divisions. BTW......Rangers(42-32) are 2nd in AL West. Astros(36-43) are 5th in NL West.

And, as a 7th-Grader to be, I most likely burned my hand popping Black Cats:eek:

Hope you enjoyed that trip down memory lane and Have a great 4th!

I remember 1976 well....going into 8th grade. The summer of '76 we did a church choir trip that featured patriotic songs.

In '76 I was 10 years old and living in Ft. Lee Virginia ( Army BAse)
Ft. Lee is a couple of hours from DC so that fourth was truly something excellent! Still have the litle scar on my right hand from the sparklers!
