Having a tattoo removed! My wife was furious when the lady at the plastic surgeons office told her that "your husbands tattoo removal is more painful than your child birth - I have been through both."

I give birth after I eat the Mexican Plate at La Casa del Taco.

My wife put the pain of having a baby in perspective for me with this statement. "Imagine passing a whole water melon the same weight as one of our children." I never belittled the pain of child birth again.:D

According to my wife, passing a kidney stone was worse than child birth. I dont see how. But she's had both, and I've had neither.
However, I have had a spinal tap. If either is any worse than that, I want no part of them.

Haven't done either.
Don't plan on doing one.
Can't say which is worse.

My dad has obviously never given birth but he has CF and it causes him to have pancreas, kidney, lung problems etc and because of it he develops tons of kidney stones. He's probably passed 30 in his lifetime.

Why don't they give epidurals to people passing kidney stones like they do the women (who want one) giving birth???

A nurse told my husband that passing a kidney stone was the closest a man could come to feeling the pain of childbirth.

I've had two children and have also battled kidney stones. In my opinion, while both are obviously painful, kidney stones are worse. First of all, the pain of kidney stones comes on suddenly, and unless you have experienced it before you have no idea what is happening so the anxiety intensifies the pain and you wonder if/when it will go away. Also, at least with childbirth you have a beautiful reward for the pain. My two cents....

what if the kidney stone were named?:D the way most people describe the pain, keeping it and naming it would seem quite rational.

There are different levels of Kidney Stones. The bad ones are really bad. I have been hospitalized and had surgery because of one that measured 9MM.
