Who got the job? I noticed the girls basketball job at Brownwood is now open? Heath coming home?

Sweetwater's new girls basketball coach is Jerry McSherry...coming from Menard, but was at Clyde at one time.

If you were asking about the Brownwood job, I believe it was Heather Hohertz.

It was Heather, she led a freshman team to a season with only one loss and that was to a JV that they came very close to beating. She will have them playing very solid basketball no matter what her talent level is.

On a side note, our boys basketball coaching position came open on Wednesday.

Shipley is cleaning house. Who/where did your boys coach go to?

The boys BB coach is going to class 1A Farwell.

Wow, Why would he want to leave 3A Brownwood (where he had a pretty good team last year) to go to Farwell?

For starters he had 10 seniors out of 12 varsity players in 2009 and he said in the paper his wife has family out that way and Farwell was going to pay him more. But honestly since he graduated from Brownwood I would suspect he did not want to work for Shipley. I don't know that but....

His leaving had nothing to do with Shipley. Does say alot about
Farwell paying more than Brownwood, WOW!!! Ask Coach Perkins why he left, he will tell you. Great coach and person.

Just so you know, you wont find a bigger Shippley fan than me. I still feel like he probally did not want to coach with Shipley but like I said, that is just my opinion... and I agree Coach Perkins is a great guy and a big loss for the Brownwood faithfull.

Perkins has been there a long long time, hometown boy as well. Will be tough to follow him.
