Which one of these would be more appropriate for kid's 13 to 15?
Any thoughts or honest opinions?

I may be completely off on this, SF, but it seems like Facebook has a few more filters than Myspace. When you try to get on someone else's Facebook page, all you see is a small profile pic and some basic info, but not too much.

Personally, I'd say Facebook is probably more secure for someone in the JH/freshman-age-range.

I'm 23 and still don't have a myspace out of fear that a sexual predator will come after me.

I have heard that Facebook has a lot less out-of-control content from children looking for attention.

either one are fine if you set the filter and permissions on it....

its the morons who have all their drunk pics and girls looking like hoochie pics unlocked for the whole world to see that give social networking sites the bad rep......

it just takes a little common sense...

Simple rule of thumb: It's not myspace, its ourspace. And facebook can just be your face. So go fb.

I would have their passwords. If they tried to change the password, the account would go bye bye.
Any preference? Does one tend to be less "crappy" than the other?

I prefer Facebook to Myspace. I hardly ever log into Myspace anymore.

For that age group neither is the safest!

Now as far as the topic goes, I dont think its Myspace, or Facebook's fault for anything... its PARENTS! If you have a kid that age or younger on a social networking site, or on the computer parents should be watching more, and educating their kids on the dangers or the internet, how important it is not to share personal infomation etc. I have both (though I dont keep up with my facebook very much) and if somebody requests me to be their friend and I dont know them, I just deny it. I have my profile set to private so if you arent my friend, you cant see anything. Its pretty easy to keep 'spam' of unwanted attention away from a social networking site, kids just need to do it and be educated about it.

thats lame...

how do you know they don't already have accounts - its not like it takes a lot of effort to get one...

they could have a 'dad' account and an 'other' account.....

something to think about...if they changed their passwords, you probably wouldn't be able to get into their account to make it go "bye-bye".

It shows you have to give your e-mail address and a password. Is there one specifically for the 3Adownlow group page? Or is there a group page?
