Rix good to hear from you. How goes the war?

I hope you are right about the bobcats. I want to see them play a little. We have a good team but need to play better on the d line than we did last year. I think we learned about getting beat off the ball last year and I hope the boys learned somethin.
Plus How do you replace Troy and Charlie. Been a long time since we had a good one two punch like that. I think Jamarick will be great and Cody can sure run so maybe that will work itself out.
I am hoping for a third guy to poke his head up tho. I hope Caleb takes it to the next level. If he does you may be right.

the war goes well here in virginia, lol (hopefully no more war for me)

the defense made huge strides the second half of last season, and i think it will be more consistent to start the season. If our younger running backs step up, i think Worrell and Romero can continue to develop and keep the offense humming. With our defense ahead of where it was last year, that will help in our early battles with Daingerfield and Whitehouse (who both will be very good once again), and i think if the defense picks up where it left off both teams will know what revenge feels like.
Prosper remains very good, and their defense is going to be solid, but with our steady QB and their lack of Hunter Nix i think they are going to also taste some revenge, and they will not like it

I also think the OLine is looking up. Wilson has gotten big and strong and should be solid at center. Roos is a man child as a soph, Jackson brings senior leadership and experience and the guards are quick. The first 5 look to be equal to or better than last year. Definately bigger!

NO!! Absolutely NOT!! 25 degrees is TOO cold! Make it about 30 or 40, maybe even 50 degrees cooler and you got yourself a deal!!

What the hey.......it don't matter, I'd be there anyway!!:D And, YES, that would be an AWESOME matchup in the finals!! I might even pass out the Kleenex to some of them Bulldogs, again!! I'd have to hunt down Garcia77 first!! :D

Funny you should ask!:) Tatum was down considerably last year, but they were young. They have most of that team back and I think they will be much better this year. The Eagles have been too good for too long, and I think they will bounce back in a big way this year. I think Chapel Hill has a lot of adjustments to make with the new system and the new head coach, plus the loss of some key players (Matthew Tucker, for one). I keep thinking Gladewater is going to break through and make it to the playoffs, but they've been a disappointment to Bear fans for the last few years. I actually thought Gladewater was the third best team in the district last year. Spring Hill should be back this year to challenge for a playoff spot, too. The only team that I don't expect to at least challenge for a playoff spot this year is Bullard. All in all, if I had to make picks, they would go this way:

District 17-3A
1st - Gilmer (District Champs - D1)
2nd - Tatum
3rd - Gladewater
4th - Chapel Hill
5th - Spring Hill
6th - Bullard

The only ones I feel certain about are the 1st and 6th place finishers. The teams in the middle will definitely battle it out for the final 2 playoff spots.

Spring Hills starting QB may be out for the season. That will hurt but we will be putting that team back together that went unbeaten in Jr. High both years. Probably won't go past what you pedicted but will definitely be building back if they all come back strong.
