Good deal for the Mavs to pick up two additional picks by moving down two slots, especially when it looks like there could be as many as three players that they really want that would be available at 22, moving down to 24 means they should still get a guy they want if their projections hold.

I have always wondered what the percentage is of guys that get
drafted and play more than two years in the NBA.

Hard to tell if this will be good for the Mavs. Drop 2 picks down in the first round and pick up two late 2nd round picks. Most of the time, those late 2nd round picks are worthless, but you never know. Might take a flyer on a prospect that could pay off in the long run.

seein as guys picked in the 2nd round make the league about 1-2 out of 10....and only about 1 in 35 has any impact, this deal really is a bust....those late picks are just where the Mavs usually draft some unknown Euro that never shows up in a Mavs uniform and they never have to spend any money on em....

as weak as this draft has been reported to be, those picks later in the draft should mean the janitors can beat em on the court...

the Mavs need so much help they sure don't need more dreg picks that no one has ever heard of or won't ever see to be clouding their offseason

a bust? this might not be the greatest deal ever, but I think it is FAR from being a bust..and 2nd round picks are always good trade fodder.

It is never a bust to make a trade that allows you to get what you want plus a little more. You never know what you might get in the second. JHO was a 29 pick and he plays more like a top 15 pick. Sometimes those late picks blossom. But even if they did not they still get the guy they want. That makes it a plus.

I'm a little concerned that the guy the Mavs have targeted is suspected to go at a "LATER" pick. Typical Mavs! They should be trying to figure out how to move up in the draft. Perhaps the whole idea with this trade is to get picks to package to move up. With their history it not smart to move down when you need so much help.....(And I hope Euro is OFF LIMITS this year). We will see!
