I know many people don't care too much about soccer, but the USA just beat #1 Spain 2-0 in the semifinals of the Confederation Cup. USA snapped Spain's 35 game win streak

I saw the whole game and was worried that 1-0 lead wasn't going to hold. Spain had a lot of chances to score but some good D and a little luck, the USA pulled through.

yea, they play the winner of Brazil vs. South Africa (which airs tomorrow) in the finals. Hopefully they carry this momentum and good play to the World Cup games next summer

Everyone listen to Colin Cowherd tomorrow on ESPN Radio. He has been ripping, and I mean ripping, USA soccer the last week or so. Mainly the USA soccer fans. He's gonna get alot of calls and emails from USA soccer fans. I love listenting to Colin Cowherd, I think he's a great announcer, but I do like it when a hotshot sports announcer has to stick his foot in his mouth. Should be a good show tomorrow.

that was a HUGE win...mexico rode a good confederation cup performance in 2005 to a seed in the 2006 world cup....if we can do the same and stay out of a "pool of death" then hopefully we can get to the playoff round and there anything can happen....

go usa!

Biggest win in US soccer history. Hopefully Bradley will realize we can play a 4-4-2 or even a more attacking style formation and have success on the world level. With Davies and Altidore at the front we are very very dangerous. Things are finally looking bright for the United States soccer club.

That's how it is with every World Cup. A good draw always helps. Of course, the Confed Cup has nothing to do with WC qualifying. They have to do that through CONCACAF, but they're in good shape.

I got fired up over the last Euro Cup, which won't happen again till 2012. I'd love to see the US in that field.

the confed cup doesnt have anything directly to do with the world cup however beating good teams such as spain can help boost our ranking which could indirectly get us get a seed....CONCACAF is a pretty weak region and by winning it we only do what we should do, we have to beat teams that are known to be good outside of CONCACAF to get some respect and a seed come world cup time.....we still have work to do to get there and goal number 1 is qualifying of course (and preferably with the number 1 CONCACAF spot) but this win will help us get to where we ultimately want to go....

to play in Euro Cup im pretty sure you have to be in the european federation? i dont think we can qualify for that.....

I don't like the "offsides" calls. Heck, if your D ain't back covering, tough crap. The game needs more scoring anyway.
