Soap Box Warning:
Why is it that we are seeing so much correct self-diagnosis these days after the medical community has had a crack at it for years? How in the world do many pathologists and doctors miss a classic presenter with Crohn's disease for years?
To me it raises serious concerns about the quality of the medical care we are receiving for what we, and our insurance companies are paying, and the care of the medical field in general. I do not mean to demean the efforts of all members of the medical field. Many are dedicated, hard working professionals who try to give their very best care to their patients, but there are still the mounting cases of mis-diagnosis or lack of a correct diagnosis as well as too many deaths due to oversights, mistakes and incompetence.
