Hitchcock took Columbus to the playoffs last year and has a team on the rise...he wouldn't be available.

I have a feeling Nieuwendyk has a friend he's wanting to bring in from Toronto or perhaps Guy Carbonneau, his old playing buddy who got canned in Montreal a year after winning the coach of the year award.

Yeah...Brett Hull and Les Jackson were "reassigned" and Nieuwy was brought in last weekend.

That's why it is good to be a Red Wings fan. No drama...just Stanley Cup trophies. The 12th of which should come in a few days.:D

I remember when Tippett was coach of the Houston Aeros...I always thought he was a pretty good coach. Sorry to see him given the boot.:(

New GM's are like new AD's, they want to bring in their own guys. It doesn't make the old guy bad but he just isn't a buddy of the new guy in charge.

That is crazy! Tippett did a great job this last year considering all the injuries he had to deal with. He lost 75% of his good talent and still managed a respectable year.

Wow...his replacement is Marc Crawford, who made it to the second round only once in his last eight years of coaching...

Suddenly, Wade Phillips isn't the worst head coach in Dallas anymore...

But he did win the Cup with Colorado in '96...
