Why does it take 4 coaches to take 1 athlete to the state track and field meet?

Its a 2a school. There are no assistant track coaches. (until someone qualifies for the state meet).

Because Austin has lots of good restaurants.

I look at it this way---If coaches are there with a kid all through the season, I think they--as well as the kid---like to be, and should be there for a big payoff like the State Meet. I don't think coaches get that many perks during the year, and allowing a couple of extra coaches to accompany a kid to a State event is not waste of taxpayer money in my book.

On the surface it may look a little strange. Don't underestimate the learning that will take place by the other coaches. If it is a 2A school, some of them may have never been to the state meet before.;)

Not in track. I was dicussing this with my mom who is a teacher and I came to the conclusion that they most likely were job hunting.

LOL, I coached a little league team a few years ago and told myself after it was over never again. Not fun at all.
