Is the 1-and-out false start rule in track too harsh?

Seems an awfully high price to pay for an athlete's season, maybe even career, work.

I think so. I think you should be allowed at least 1. Is that in highschool level? When I was in highschool you were allowed 3. I thought that was only at professional level.

I always thought the 1 false start and out rule was dumb. Isnt the object of a race, to find the fastest person in the race. Some poor starters will make you sit too long in the blocks, and will almost force a false start. No need to be tricky. Just get the race started fairly, and lets see who's fastest.

should be just like pros. One to the field then DQs after that. This way the runners get a feel for the starter. Starters cause most false starts.

but I'd hardly call this season "peak" they had so much freakin' time off due to the swine flu & there were problems with the blocks.
