I just don't understand the need for the bashing in this thread, especially with a moderator..

I've been on this board for over 2 years (a "newbie" by a lot of people's standards), but I can say the 3ADL moderators do their job very well. No need - and no reason - to "pick a fight" with one or to be calling one out..JMHO

just want to wish giddings good luck in the rest of the playoffs... with their pitchers and clutch hitting, you guys are sure gonna be the team to beat. should be a great series with bellville though, wish i could be there to see it. should probably be about as good as Calallen and moody down in corpus this week.....

Yeah, from what I was hearing from some Giddings fans on Saturday after the Bellville/Robstown game, they were saying Giddings wanted Brenham. It's looking like Brenham or College Station? Would Brenham High School's baseball field or Blinn's field be able to hold the huge crowds that is expected for this series? I actually attended Blinn in Brenham about 10 years ago, and I don't remember Dreyer field having a good seating capacity.

IMO, Bellville has the better starters and Giddings couple of players with HR threat. Giddings 2nd pitcher is decieving as his fastball can be hit but once he starts to hit his outside pitches makes it hard to get a good hit off him. Bellville 2 starters i think is pretty solid.

after all that, i think its a toss up, but whoever wins, will take it in 2 if a best of 3 series.

I have watched both of these teams this year but missed their 3 games with each other. I just don't see how Bellville will be able to win two games against this group of Giddings boys. The Giddings team has a lot going for them; on the mound, defensively, and at the plate. I heard someone say the other day that they have nearly 40 homeruns as a team. How many teams can boast that right now at the 3a level? Pretty impressive, but it should still be a fun series to watch.

Doc, Gidding's field is very small. I believe it's 310 on the corners, but I'm not sure on CF. Either way, it's a glorified little league field. The home team will definately have inflated numbers there.
