Since the game was in SA, I decided to go watch and had some thoughts and observations.
-Both teams looked to be very good. Giddings had only starters in pre-game warmup and Sinton had a small army out there.
-Both pitchers battled through the heat. Home plate ump was inconsistent but didn't seem to benefit either team by the end of the game.
-Sinton stranded way too many baserunners and had baserunning errors that killed their opportunities. Giddings seemed to take better advantage of their opportunities and lived off the long ball.
-The cool effect of a "walk off" HR was tainted after the team came to congratulate their teammate. One of the Giddings players came across home plate, over to the Sinton side of the 1st base line and was clapping and taunting them after the had won. I lost a lot of respect for them when this happened.
I was fortunate enough to have my father and coaches teach me to win and lose with class- humble in victory, gracious in defeat. That lesson seemed to be lost at the moment on that player.
Good game played by both teams, great plays by both and as is usually the case, the team that capitalized on opportunities was the team that won. Congrats to both teams for an exciting game and successufl season. Good luck to Giddings in the next round.

What you said is right...a classless move by the Giddings player...

We saw the same thing out of Lake Travis, fingers being shot, parents threatening to punch people. But, they were smited! Moody vs Calallen for Region IV title, likely State.

Well, shoot. I couldn't have said it any better!
I did not witness whatever happened with the player as mentioned above, so I have no comment.
Once again, as the game wore on, I knew 3 runs wasn't gonna be enough.
Major kudos to the Kmock kid from Giddings. He pitched a great game! Early on, I felt he was the type of pitcher our hitters would be able to take advantage of, but he got them to ground out and let his defense work behind him!
I felt both teams were evenly matched and it was a great series. The fans certainly got their monies worth! :2thumbsup
We'll be backing Giddings the rest of the way. Finish what you started!

Congrats to this very special group of seniors. They have represented our school with tremendous honor & heart. We will miss them and we know they will continue to prosper!

I was at the game thursday night and I wasn't going to say anything cause it wasn't that big of a deal but there were some "taunting" comments coming from the the Sinton dugout during the game...not sayin it was a horrible act, but if you're gonna but someone under the bus for doing that in the emotion of a game-winning HR (I'm not condoning the act), a mirror might be in order
With that being said congrats to Sinton on a good season, it was obvious yall have a winning tradition with your following and character

RiverRat19 has no vested interest in Sinton that I'm aware of. Some taunting from the dugout during the game should be expected. Right or wrong, it's always been a part of baseball at any level. I have to agree with RR19 that AFTER the game is over, a different tactic is in order.
I didn't witness the "incident" either, and it probably wouldn't have bothered me too much if I had. These are kids after all.

OK, I've had enough of these stupid accusations about taunting. I have watched my video, It was a little shaky as I was obviously a little shaky holding the camera.
The only thing I saw was two players, outside of the huge huddle of jumping boys who were congratulating Berry.
That was a very hard way for Sinton to lose. As you are watching the celebration and in your own disappointment, it is very easy to see what you want to see.
I saw two boys with their "guns up" in celebration. you all might want to stop and think about Masek signing with Texas Tech in that moment. It was not taunting and I can assure Sinton that in that moment, those boys didn't even know there was anyone in the stands. They only saw each other.
With that said. Sinton has a long and honored baseball tradition. Giddings doesn't have that, it was our 1st district championship in 24 yrs.
for Pete's sake, the Buffs knew what a huge win this was for them. Don't spoil their accomplishment by accusing them of being classless. They are anything but. &&& the smack talk from Sinton and their crowd doesn't make them classless either. It makes it a baseball game. Every Sinton fan that stopped and talked to us (before and after the wins) were great sportsman and true Sinton pirate baseball supporters. And the Sinton AD proved how great the program is by coming into the dugout after the game and personally congratulating our players. First class act by an administrator
Congratulations Sinton Pirates. You provided a great challenge and two games to be remembered. Good luck to the Seniors.
Go Buffs. Bellville will be a challenge, like always. It's certainly not like we don't know each other. I can't decide if that's good or bad.
Pitch by Pitch. Find a way to win.

I did see anything as i was busy posting the play as it happen. Both teams i think repected each other now the fans i'm not sure.

that's what Sinton66 told me, he wasnt to comfortable with only 3 run lead.
Its strange how it all came down, bot 6 with 2 outs a ball gets lost in the sun at the last moment for Giddings 1st run. At that point i could'nt stop thinking we were doomed
