By default, Firefox is optimized for dial up connection. You can change the browser settings so that it can be used to browse with DSL or cable or other broadband links.


I did this about a week ago ...big difference .

I prefer FireFox at home but we have to use IE at the office due to server issues....... thanks for the tip - I'll see what kind of settings I have here at the house:)

Great find. I have used Firefox for a long time and never applied this fix. I have always heard that adjusting the internal registry for the program was not recomended. I applied this right now and have already noticed a great difference.

i use an internet browser called Flock... its like firefox except better... in my opinion... and the same thing can be applied... you can do this on internet explorer too..

It really sped up the load time on many pages for me...things that used to take 10-15 seconds to load are now loading in 1-2. A lot may depend on the speed of internet service that you have.
