Hey chief, as if bringing a topic up and proclaiming yourself as the best weren't bad enough, you actually refer to yourself in the third person.

You are a DB.

Some guy from Barber's Hill has 9 Picks (Bryan Penn)...Thats pretty good considering he is playing in district 22-3a where no one passes the ball more than 10 times in a game....

There is a lot more to being a DB than getting INT's. You can't rate a player based on only one aspect of the position they play.

Marcos Ramirez leads Kennedale with 5 interceptions

Brian Zachary from Greenwood is a great one. He has at least 5 interceptions, a fumble return for TD, is the leading tackler for Greenwood, and delivers one of those hits that "can be heard in the next county" almost every game.

Raymond Hudson would be one of the best but he does not play defense. He runs a 4.37 and benches 350.

I'm a homer on this one but my son's (Matt Gonzales of Vernon) sats are awesome. He is a strong safety and has over 100 tackles through 7 games. He also has one pick that he returned about 45 yards. So any college recruiters out there give him a look so I can get him out of the house next year!

There is a good one in District 21-3a at Orangefield named Farias. We played them early and he was a good receiver and cornerback although his corner technique was very poor compared to his receiver skills.

I admit I am a little biased, but #32 Jerrad Knight from Merkel has had a great year. Ask Monahans, Denver City,Breckenridge, and Snyder what he can do. Sweetwater will find out Friday night.

D'Nerian Wrighter of Marlin is a good DB. Actually Marlin had 2 good DBs. When they played Burnet, Shipley and Warner made the catches, but Marlin closed so fast they could not tack on much yardage.

Noticed some talk about a large number of tackles being made by DBs. That's scary to coaches when DBs are the last chance, especially on running plays. My hats off to the young men who are making those down field tackles.
