I'm not sure, but will try to figure out. There looks to be about 6-8 kids still in, maybe more.

Winning vault was 15'0". Brownwoods freshman vaulter came in fourth (tied for second) with a vault of 14'6". Not bad for a Freshman. I bet he will get to Austin next year.

LHPM sent me a text that Kenneth Turner from Snyder won the 100 and John Cook from Greenwood came in 2nd.

Greenwood won the 4X200.

I am not sure if Cook is on that relay, but an interesting thing about Josh Cook.....he is a senior and this is his first year to run track. he played football his freshman year and again his senior year. It wasn't until his senior year that anyone discovered that he was fast! So the track coach has been talking to him all year about running track...I guess it paid off!!

I think the Llano girl won.
2nd and 3rd was seperated by an inch.

Overall a very nice venue for a track meet. Much better than Region III site in Humble. 5 Hour drive was a pain though.

I know that Wylie boys had 98 or 99 to take 1st by a LOT and I'm pretty sure Fredericksburg got 2nd. I missed the final girls because we were taking pictures & I forgot to pay attention when they announced.

At one point, before 4x4's I think, Whitney girls were in 3rd (Wren Bonner :) ). Estacado and Wylie were the other two, and I think Estacado was winning at the time, but don't quote me on that.

Whatever happened to China Spring's Kelli Richardson(??) She made state in the 800 as a sophmore, is a senior now, and she is not listed on the results?

Hasn't run track the past two years. Last year was rehabing a knee. Has been concentrating on JC basketball this spring.

The Abilene Wylie girls winning all three relays is impressive. The Wylie girls have an excellent good athletics program. They're hard to beat in any sport (especially track).

One thing that I noticed this year at the district meet is Wylie has so many good athletes in track, they don't have to run the same girls in different events like most schools. (They can run three girls in the 400 meters and then four different girls in the mile relay).

That final mile relay showdown between Wylie and Lubbock Estacado (girls) may have been the best I've ever watched... lead changed hands about 6 times and Wylie pulled it out with a 3:56.75 to Estacado's 3:57 and change. Imagine 3000 people on their feet screaming at the top of their lungs the whole last lap. It was electric. There was prob never more than 5-6 meters seperating the teams the whole race.
